If You’re Into Pontiacs, Then You Will Love This Barn Find Full Of ’70s Firebirds And Trans Ams.

Humans love to collect things. For some it’s stamps, and for others it might be coins or vintage comic books. Come to think of it, just about everything is collectible to someone. But what if the thing that warms your heart is on the bigger side of the equation? Well, for Bernie Larson, a Navy vet and 30-year USPS employee, his passion was all things Pontiac. This was especially true of Trans Ams and Firebirds, which brings us to this very cool 20-car barn find.

According to the auction house handling the sale, VanDerBrink Auctions, “All it took was that first drive, in a Pontiac Judge, and Mr. Larson was hooked. He had many cars through the years, but Pontiacs ruled the garage. He spent countless hours collecting Trans Ams, Firebirds, and other Pontiacs. He was also constantly going to swap meets and accumulated a large assortment of Pontiac parts.” Heads, intakes, carbs, Euro bumpers, hoods, tires, and just about anything you can think of ended up in Larson’s collection.

While the parts are cool, the real story here is the cars, and Larson had very good taste when it came to his Pontiacs. Our personal favorite would have to be the 1974 Pontiac Super Duty with the 455 V8 and four-speed trans. The white with the red interior has to be one of the best combinations out there. But Larson’s Pontiac roster runs deep with examples ranging from a 1971 Firebird to a 1981 Trans Am. There are two 1979 10th Anniversary Trans Ams in the hoard, as well. Some of the cars are pretty clean and complete, while others are most definitely in the project car category. But if you’re into these classic Pontiacs, then there are cars here that will make you reach for your checkbook.

We really hope to see these vintage barn find Pontiac Trans Ams and Firebirds back on the road, and if you happen to grab that sexy 1974 Super Duty, let us know because we would really like a ride or two.
