YouTuber Junkyards and Barn Finds with Sean has taken to the Dade City car show to find an incredible array of muscle cars and anything else he can lay eyes on. The condition of many of the cars on show is quite exceptional, with some featuring their original paint and engines. We have a great selection to watch in the video, including a Plymouth Road Runner and a stunning example of a Plymouth Bel Air. The video also includes a barn find Road Runner that is in remarkable condition. All the cars in this video are remarkable in their own right.

A Plymouth Road Runner Is The Incredible Barn Find

Second Generation Plymouth Road Runner Engine Specs

The car we first look at is a Plymouth Road Runner, and it is in fantastic condition. This is the barn find that Sean teases at the start of the video by showing off the window sticker. This is a 1973 Road Runner, with a 340 ci V8 engine under the hood in a deep blue with white stripes and a white interior. The YouTuber talks to the owner of the muscle car, and while the paint itself is not original, it is the original color of the car. The Road Runner had a repaint a couple of years ago.

All the paint under the hood and in the door jams is still original, with the exterior bodywork repainted. The owner replaced the original wheels with factory-style ones which were not available at the time of the 1973 Road Runner. The chrome on the Road Runner is immaculate at the front and rear, with the bumpers having no marks or blemishes. The owner confirms the interior is all-original, including the leather on the seats and dashboard trim. The muscle car also has the Road Runner logo with the bird on the side and inside.

The 440 ci engine under the hood has 260 hp, and it was the biggest engine Plymouth offered with a four-speed manual transmission. The 1971 Road Runner is part of the second generation of the muscle car, and this was the first time that Plymouth made the 6.6-liter 400 ci V8 engine, seen in other vehicles by Chevrolet and other manufacturers, available in it.

The 1973 model year also saw the Road Runner receive new sheet metal and a square front-end design, with changes to the rear resembling the 1971-1972 four-door models of the car. According to Hemmings, some options for the Road Runner included rear window louvers and body-color Elastomeric bumpers.

The next car we look at is a heavily modified Ford Mustang, with Boss 302 on the engine cover. This Mustang is in an all-black livery, with red stripes running down the center of the hood, over the rear, and also down the side of the car. Those side stripes are right at the bottom of the doors and quarter panels. The red also extends onto the rear lip spoiler and the tailgate of the muscle car.

The YouTuber shows off the side of the car which reads “723 Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational”, which reveals the Mustang is a drag racer. The Optima Batteries run event sees a huge variety of modified street cars and trucks take part in a variety of drag races and crown a champion.

In 2022, it was a 2013 Nissan GT-R R35 driven by Bob Sobey that took the top honors. This Mustang is a great example of the cars that take part in the event. The interior shows that it is still a street car, as it has a driver and passenger seat, air conditioning, and a radio. However, the roll-cage and nitrous in the back reveal its racing credentials.

Next, we get a look at a gorgeous 1965 Buick Skylark, in deep blue with subtle chrome running down the side of the doors. The interior is black and immaculate, and this 1965 Skylark has its hood open so we can get a good look at the engine. The 1965 model year was part of the first generation that the Skylark had its model line, having been a trim level in the years before that. Engines ranged from a Buick V6 to a Chevrolet inline-six, and various Buick V8s.

An All-Black Chevrolet Bel Air Is One Of The Show’s Stars

One of the next cars showcased is a gorgeous Chevrolet Bel Air, finished in black with some white on the rear quarter panels. This Bel Air has a red interior which contrasts well with the black of the exterior. The Bel Air was a full-size car built from 1950-1981 in various forms, initially as a two-door hardtop before convertibles and four-door versions became available. The Bel Air is one of the most recognizable cars in Chevrolet history.

Next, we see a 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle in very nearly pristine condition. It is deep red with a black interior and the chrome gleaming. The interior has red accents on the seats and door sills, and the owners have kept the original dashboard and gauges to keep the 1960s feel. The 1966 model year saw a big redesign of the Chevelle. This included smooth contours, a broad new grille, and new bumpers. Curved side windows were also introduced, and the Chevelle also had a “flying buttress” roofline, tunneled into the car’s C-pillar.

A variety of engine options were available for the Chevelle during its first generation, starting with the 3.2-liter Hi-Thrift inline-six and up to the 395 ci big-block V8, according to ss396.com. The 1968 model year saw the first of the second-generation Chevelles leave the Chevrolet factory, introducing a new, sculpted body to the car.
