Further information from the door data plate reveals that this Mustang Mach 1 Sportsroof (63C) left the factory with a special paint finish (5)—a shade of purple known as Ford #WT9106—along with a blackout hood treatment. It featured fresh white Clarion Knit Vinyl Mach 1 Hi-Back bucket seats (3W) and was scheduled for production on October 7, 1968. However, Ford completed the car on October 25, 1968, which was approximately 18 days behind the original build schedule.
This 1969 Mustang Mach 1 R-Code was ordered through the Los Angeles Ordering District under Special Order #1323 (711323). The designation “A6” indicates that the car came with a 3.50 standard axle ratio and a four-speed close-ratio manual transmission (option).

Among these, only 15 boasted white knit vinyl Mach 1 bucket seats. Within this subset of 15 cars, six were equipped with deluxe belts and warning lights. Of those six, only four had tinted glass, and among them, just two featured AM radios.

Reportedly, there is a nine-year-old YouTube video from Vanguard Motor Sales advertising the sale of a 1969 Mustang Mach 1 with VIN 9R02R10933 in Calypso Coral finish. This aligns with the current owner’s statement regarding the timing of his acquisition of the car.
Around two years later, in February 2016, MustangAttitude.com published information about a specific 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 with VIN 9R02R10933 in Calypso Coral finish. The listed owner of the car was Tom Patterson from Poulsbo, Washington.
Interestingly, the individual from DezzysSpeedShop, also a Navy veteran, confirmed that this car was previously finished in Calypso Coral paint. With this information in hand, it seems plausible that the person from DezzysSpeedShop and Tom could be the same individual.

This 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is a restomod classic. According to MustangAttitude.com, when Tom purchased the car in 2014, it wasn’t in stock condition due to several additional touches. These included a Shelby roll bar and 1970 hood locks, and the roof emblems were also removed.
Vanguard Motor Sales’ YouTube video described that the Mustang Mach 1 underwent a no-expense-spared full restoration in 2008. There is a possibility that it changed colors from purple to red-orange during this restoration. Additionally, its four-speed gearbox was replaced with a TKO 600 Tremec 5-speed transmission.
The interior also underwent a thorough restoration, featuring new seats, door skins, headliner, dashboard, center console, Shelby roll bar, and black carpet. From the completion of the restoration until 2014, the car had only traveled just over 2,000 miles. Most of the time, the Mach 1 remained parked in the garage.

Its 428-ci engine now delivers 463 hp, instead of the original output of 335 hp. There was no need for a change, even though the pony car has a five-speed transmission instead of a four-speed gearbox.
However, the reddish-orange color of Calypso Coral grew on him, and he eventually decided to give Ford a new paint job. But he intended the new finish to match the car’s original color—purple. The owner got his wish, and the car now looks like it just rolled off the production line. As for the other elements, they’ll stay on the car for now.
