Immerse yourself in the captivating tale of a remarkable eight-year endeavor—the restoration of a magnificent ’56 Chevrolet Nomad. This exceptional two-door station wagon, based on the renowned Chevrolet Bel Air, showcased an array of inline six and V8 engines, providing the choice between manual and automatic transmissions. Distinguished by its distinctive and stylish design, the Nomad stood out among its contemporaries, swiftly becoming a prized possession for collectors. Alongside its standard features, the Nomad also offered optional equipment such as power windows, a power seat, and even air conditioning.

Imagine the audacity and dedication required to revive one of the scarce 7,886 copies of the 1956 Chevrolet Nomad produced by Chevrolet. Transforming this Nomad, starting with an originally rust-free vehicle from Arizona, demanded nearly a decade of unwavering commitment.

The 1956 Chevrolet Nomad underwent a magnificent metamorphosis, emerging as a resplendent teal restomod, boasting an upgraded powertrain and exuding an aura of pure opulence within its customized passenger cabin.

POWERTRAIN – At the heart of this vehicle lies the Generation II small-block V-8 engine, initially introduced in the 1992 Corvette.

Known as the LT1, the engine featured in this Nomad originates from the Corvette, benefiting from four-bolt main bearing caps and multiport electronic fuel injection. With a compression ratio of 10.5:1, this iteration of the LT1 was rated by the manufacturer at an impressive 300 horsepower.

Enhancements to the Nomad’s engine include dual electric cooling fans and a custom air intake. The seller assures that it starts instantaneously and runs flawlessly. The 4L60-E automatic transmission, also derived from the Corvette, seamlessly shifts gears. No powertrain leaks have been reported, and the engine bay maintains a pristine appearance.

INTERIOR – Step into the lavishly customized cabin of the Nomad, where every detail has been meticulously tailored to perfection. The dashboard features a complete Dakota Digital instrument cluster, radiating a captivating deep blue glow during nocturnal drives.

A custom console adorned with carbon fiber accents showcases a cutting-edge Atoto entertainment center, equipped with Bluetooth, Pandora, and Google Maps functionalities. Additionally, two integrated backup cameras with dual monitors ensure enhanced safety and convenience.

Luxurious Cadillac front leather seats, equipped with power adjustments and lumbar supports, indulge passengers with optimum comfort. The remaining seats and interior facings, including the custom headliner, are meticulously crafted from exquisite Austrian leather. The floor boasts plush cut-pile carpeting in impeccable condition.

Rest assured, none of the interior trims are missing, and the custom interior structures exhibit flawless double stitching in white. While the aftermarket Vintage Air system operates efficiently, the heater requires attention. The cargo area is carpeted and showcases an impeccable presentation.

CHASSIS – This extraordinary vehicle glides effortlessly on aluminum suspension components sourced from a fourth-generation Corvette. Enhanced with an Airtekk air-ride system, the Nomad achieves unparalleled comfort and control. The system’s dual tanks and compressors are conveniently managed through a bespoke overhead console, which also provides tire inflation capabilities.

Reportedly, the suspension components remain in excellent condition, ensuring a smooth ride. The leak-free tilt-telescope power rack-and-pinion steering adds to the driving pleasure. The Corvette disc brakes inspire confidence, benefiting from new pads and rotors. Immaculate 2019 Corvette wheels adorn the vehicle, fitted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport run-flat radials.
