Mercedes SL 500 Convertible Automatic, Hard and Soft top

Here we have an outstanding example of the Mercedes R129 – generation model. These cars when new, were ahead of their time with safety and technical innovations. To drive one of these in 1991, you had arrived. This SL dressed in the famous signal red with beige leather seats was and is possibly the best colour scheme available. The comfort and the effortless power of these sports cars is truly stunning. No comprise on stability and road holding either has been made. This example drives as it looks!

Having only covered 64,863 miles, one could suggest, it has only just been run in. The MOT history shows that in 16 years the Mercedes has only driven approximately 7,000 miles. It comes with its original service book, owner’s manual, and spare key. There is also a file of receipts and old mot certificates dating back to 2009.

The interior throughout is in very good condition and the mohair soft top looks like a recent investment. The alloys are all in good shape as is the body work. The car has all the top of the range features.

The R107 SL was the predecessor to the Mercedes we have here, these slightly earlier models are achieving high end prices. Therefore, one would suggest that the prices of the R129 may well head in the same direction for good examples.

If you would like to view this classic SL please call for an appointment.
