Chevrolet Corvette C3 1982 “Collector Edition” Huge Spec

Here we have a very special Chevrolet Corvette, this is the rare “Collector Edition”. Chevrolet decided to make this special edition package to commemorate its 1968 -1982 production run.1982 marked the end of the third generation Corvette body style. So they decided to celebrate that fact with the car you see here today.

This model has several extras which need to be mentioned. The power train is a small block V8 which had been used for many years, however in these 82 models the upgrade of the crossfire fuel injection system and the new command control computer where installed. This provides fuel metering and governs the transmissions torque converter. The car comes with an automatic transmission, power steering, and air conditioning (new up to date A/C being fitted).

The collector edition package also includes this stunning silver-beige metallic paint contrasting superbly with the silver leather upholstery, silver leather door trim, and take a look at the shag pile carpet. If you slip yourself behind the wheel in this car you are transported back to the 70’s in a flash! The interiors on these “vettes” can look very worn but this cockpit is outstanding throughout. On the outside this edition boasts the finned aluminium wheels, which are stunning and running along side is the graduated shadow graphics. The T-Top removable roof panels are bronze -coloured glass which just adds the finishing touch to the look of this Corvette. How about the lift up rear window, only available in 1982. This provides great access to the rear and is mounted on two hydraulic rams. A luggage cover is also installed in this area.

The Corvette was originally purchased by Mr Glenn Davidson, who lived in St. Petersburg Florida. He took delivery on the 31st December 1982 from Ross Chevrolet also of St. Petersburg Florida. What a way to start the new year!! This stunning Corvette arrived in the U.K. after being purchased from Florida in 1990. It arrived here with only 66,634 miles and since then has been used sparingly as one would imagine. The odometer now reads 78,618 and we have a file with numerous MOT’S which help substantiate the low mileage. That and the overall superb condition of this classic piece of Americana, shows a well-cared for low mileage classic car, which is ready to take to any show or on a European tour. The Corvette comes with a file of service receipts in its history folder with the original Chevrolet warranty form.
