SpeedKore 1970 Dodge Charger “Evolution”. (SpeedKore Performance Group).

If you aren’t familiar with SpeedKore Performance Group, the Grafton, Wisconsin company is world known for its work with carbon fiber. The speciality car maker has an amazing list of machines it has built over the past decade, including some really amazing Mopars.

A few months ago, we told you about their latest carbon fiber 1970 Dodge Charger called the “Evolution”. Besides being made of carbon fiber, the Evolution is powered by a slightly-modified 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8 from the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon and is backed by a 6-speed manual from the SRT HELLCAT.

Jay Leno was lucky enough to get behind the wheel of this 996 horsepower, 3,400 lb. mean Mopar machine for the latest episode of “Jay Leno’s Garage”.

Evolution is actually SpeedKore’s second take on the classic B-Body muscle car. A few years ago, the company showed off their 1970 Dodge Charger “Tantrum”. That car featured similar body work and it was powered by a 1,650 horsepower Mercury Racing twin-turbo V8, which is used for unlimited offshore powerboat racing. Jay, also had a chance to drive that car a while back.
