‘Vicious’ 1965 Fastback Mustang Is More Than Just a Cool Showpiece

For anyone who thought SEMA had fallen victim to glitzy concepts with no backbone, this Timeless Kustoms 1965 Ford Mustang Coupe, “Vicious,” is a serious wake-up call.

Packed with 1,000 horsepower and roughly the same pound-feet of torque, the restored fastback was engineered to perform on the track as well as the straightaways. Timeless Kustoms owner Jason Pecikonis said the components of the car were carefully selected for optimal performance in a variety of different driving situations, according to a Yahoo report.

The first thing Timeless Kustoms did was swap out the Mustang’s original roof for a custom fastback number, courtesy of Dynacorn. The team then mounted a custom Art Morrison chassis with a Corvette suspension, an independent rear, and Ridetech Triple Adjustable coilovers.

The car’s power comes from a modified 5.1-liter Ford Racing 350GT motor with a Magnuson MP2300 TVS supercharger and twin 76mm Precision turbos. The engine is mated to a EMCO Gears CG46 sequential six-speed transmission with a Centerforce DYAD clutch.

Other performance features include Brembo brakes, forged GT3C wheels from Forgeline, and Kumho V720 tires. But one of the Mustang’s coolest assets is the MagnaFlow exhaust planted right in the middle of the car’s unique rear diffuser.
